A new Donation Page for making donations to the Snowmix Open Source Video Mixer Projects has been created. If you are happy with Snowmix, please consider donate an amount of your own choosing to the further development of Snowmix.

New Snowmix version 0.5.1

New Snowmix version 0.5.1 is available for download.

This version Snowmix adds a number of new GUI programs suitable for controlling Snowmix in a Live production enviroment. In addition to this, a number of bugfixes and improvements are included further strengthening the stability and suitability of Snowmix in a Live production environment. Details are available in the Release Notes.

Snowmix is now supported on the following platforms:

  • Linux CentOS, Chakra, Debian, Fedora, Linaro, Mint, OpenSUSE, Ubuntu
  • FreeBSD PCBSD
  • Mac OS X El Capitan, Yosemite, Maverick, Mountain Lion

Snowmix has been tested to run on the following architectures:

  • i386, i586, i686
  • amd64/x86_64
  • ARMv7

If you have used previous versions of Snowmix, it is important that you read the Release Notes.

As always, details of changes and new implementations are listed in the Change Log and an updated version for how to compile and install Snowmix is likewise available. The development plans has also been updated to reflect this new release.

New Snowmix version 0.5.0

New Snowmix version 0.5.0 is available for download.

This version makes Snowmix installable and add for the first time for Snowmix support for industry standard OpenGL hardware accelerated 2D and 3D graphic manipulation. Details are in the Release Notes.

In addition to the usual new commands, bugfixes, speed-ups and cosmetic changes, the previous EndOfLife announcements are now implemented.

Snowmix is now supported on the following platforms:

  • Linux CentOS, Chakra, Debian, Fedora, Linaro, Mint, OpenSUSE, Ubuntu
  • Mac OS X Yosemite, Maverick, Mountain Lion, Lion and Snowleopard

Snowmix has been tested to run on the following architectures:

New version 0.4.5.

New version 0.4.5 is available for download.

This version supports OS X on Intel and Linux Ubuntu, Fedora, Mint, Debian, OpenSUSE, Chakra and and Linero on amd64, i386/i686 and ARMv7 platforms.

This versions mainly updates and upgrades virtual feed and image commands and capabilities for overlay/mixing, but it also includes optimization especially for overlaying text.

The version includes 17 new commands and includes a longer list of bugfixes, correct minor cosmetic errors, improving the bootstrap and compilation process. Also 2 new reference manuals has been written for this release. Details are all listed in Changelog. See also the Release Notes.

New version 0.4.4.

New version 0.4.4 is available for download.

This version supports OS X on Intel and Linux Ubuntu, Fedora, Mint and Linero on amd64, i386/i686 and ARMv7 platforms.

It [scripting capabilities](Scripting) has vastly been improved with new querying capabilities from inside the [embedded Tcl Interpreter](Tcl Interpreter) for Snowmix internal settings. There are also significant improvement to the Scenes pane and the Video pane of snowcub.tcl, the GUI for controlling Snowmix. [Snowmix Libraries](Snowmix Libraries) has been overhauled, upgraded, improved and are now supported. Earlier issues with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS has been fixed and better visual scaling of video and images is now available.

The version includes 27 new commands and includes a longer list of bugfixes, correct minor cosmetic errors, improving the bootstrap and compilation process. Details are all listed in Release Notes.
